It is my belief that one of the most dangerous things a person can do is to get so comfortable in their life they don't see the value in growing. They've come to the understanding that the purpose of living if to make a life that will allow them to coast. Why is that comfort is the desired outcome for a fruitful life? It is my understanding that the root of our species was founded on the notion of action. That we hunted and gathered to survive. This action was not something of choice it was a means of existing or not. Let us fast forward from those humble beginnings to where we find ourselves in the present. We now live in a world where it is acceptable to just be stagnant. To exist without to much push back, to have thoughts of a better existence, but finding more ease in conforming. We no longer value our capacity ,we accept our monotony. My notions of life and the minor successes I've had in it have all been based off of action. I have thrived because of my adaptability to continue on. To lose my sense of comfort and to push myself even if to a place of discomfort. I'm not here saying that you must push yourself to an extreme limit, but then again maybe I am. What are we if we don't push ourselves? What do we learn of our capacity to thrive within if we never push ourselves both physically and mentally from time to time? There may be an abundance of reasons we've come to a reality of accepting life without meaning, reward without adversity. But I cannot accept this reality. I urge you to get up and assess your comforts either big or small. Assess what you're wanting out of this life and what it will take to get there. You've heard the spiel before, with hard work comes great reward. I'm not one necessarily looking for for a life based on rewards but I am very much focused on a life lived intentionally. So if in you're self analyzing you come to a realization that you've not accomplished your true goals because of this false sense of comfort. GET UP AND GET TO IT! Get your ASS up and take back this life, it's the only one you will get on this planet! I was recently acquainted with a Spanish proverb. Hearing it jump started something within, it reminded me that we sometimes lose our way but we always have the opportunity to start anew. I leave you with this proverb below: "Habits begin as cobwebs and end up as chains" img[src]:lamanomagazine
