Time, the master of our lives. On a larger scale of existence we begin to see that our time is very limited, and so how we choose to use that time should be one of the most important things in all of our lives..... Time is a concept which doesn't truly exist but its implementation in our human society has a very profound effect in how we interact with one another and with the world around us. We wake up and our given 24 hours daily to do as we will, but how many of us can truly look ourselves and say we're using this limited time in an effective way? Most of us, if we're playing by the rules are waking up to an annoying mechanical noise awakening us from our natural state of rest.
We awake each day and put on garments so we can present ourselves in an appropriate manner, a manner which is in accordance with the unset rules we have constructed. We get into our mechanical machines and maneuver pedals to a concrete building. We enter this artificial environment and sit, stand, exert force and move paper or physical objects to make tangible or intangible goods. We do this for a set amount of time and then we are allowed to go back to our personal resting area. It is here where we are often so exhausted to do much except eat and sleep. Do you see yourself in this system of routine? If you do, well then you probably find yourself asking yourself how did this happen. When did the time become less about dreaming and innocent playfulness and more about monotonous practices. And how does this thread of existence keep perpetuating itself to each subsequent generation? Why do we waste our limited time? We, you, me are far more capable of utilizing time in a more constructive way. We can do more then to just sit watching a plastic markers slowly tick off the seconds of our lives into oblivion. Recently I've had the unfortunate privilege of coming acquainted with the end of life far more then I have ever experienced in my young life. It seems as if every weekend I am receiving a new report of another loved one who has departed this existence. With these occurrences I've come to appreciate the notion of life and the brief moment we each get to live it. Some if us live it extravagant, some of us live it ordinary, shamefully far to much of us live it monotonously. Living in a place of fear, a fear of life. A place where complacency reigns supreme and risk is a place best left for the person next door, down the street or across the globe. With that said I present you with the question that headlines this post... What can we do with our time? How can you make the most use of your time? How can you you maneuver your life where your not waking up to the mechanical noise that interrupts your dreams? Dragging your lifeless body to a place of drudgery. How can you remember the aspirations that once inhabited your quietest chambers, the solace of the shadows, and how can those ideas be brought to life? When and how will they be birthed and shared with all of us here that are still enjoying the experience. Your time, my time is precious. If you have something you've always wanted to act on, well then by all means act on it. These second you read these words you're already a few moments older then we you were on the last sentence. Each moment we we don't fully utilize is a moment we have given away. My life is guided by the passion that enriches my life. That passion is my own and with that I'm always on the lookout on how I can best serve myself to live my existence in accordance with my desires, anything short of this is a waste of my precious time. I may not be utilizing all my time but I am surely making the best with what I have currently, and for me that's a start. Remember you don't always have to start big, small steps can turn into bigger strides, all it takes is time.
