Why I do (need) this.

I am back and so begins a new chapter.....again
After a nearly a three month hiatus I return. It's a return to my former roots on a platform that works and that I feel comfortable in. I began the launch of this new brand Viaje a couple months back on WordPress, it was a challenge to invent something completely new from top to bottom. A new brand, a new platform, a new design, a new direction. I was excited about what I was doing...until I wasn't.

There are many factors that brought about my decision but the most clear was that I lacked direction and I was getting discouraged from creating.

I like the idea of change, especially when something seems invigorating. Not only that but I'm always up for a new challenge. This challenge came in the form of transferring to a system that most bloggers are very adamant about,  WordPress. You blogger/online types have surely heard of it, for those who haven't let's just say most bloggers use this website platform to create some amazing things.

After working very diligently on my new site I was excited to launch it, soon after it launched I slowly found it was not a good fit. The platform I was already using had allowed me to create from within and grow as creative/writer without getting in my way, something I highly valued.

What I had initially created on WordPress was tedious and challenging in a fun way. I spent time trying to figure out the WordPress system, I quickly got anchored after launch and referred to countless resources online trying to help me only to add more confusion. It stifled the reason why I do this.

I decided to take a hiatus unintentionally.

The ideas were no longer coming and the creative juices were lacking. I already have minimal time to tinker with a system that required exactly that. I found that I needed to take a step back and just sit on my next move. I was unsure whether that involved trying to figure out WordPress or just going back with what I already knew.  It was a decision that I juggled for some time, ultimately I decided to go back, and with that decision I find myself here, again.

So I bring you Viaje 2.0

I'm providing some back-story to this post because I need to be adamant that this is not just a passing fling with me. This site, this process is a part of who I have become. New directions, titles, and occurrences in my life may come and change over time but this does not, the desire to express.

In the last few years expressing my thoughts and visuals on different mediums have provided the same excitement as when I find myself traveling. It allows me to tap into that place where magic happens. If you've yet to be there in your life, I assure to search deeply within, you'll find it.

This "thing" is always with me. It peers out the window as I drive down a highway, words springing into my head, ideas and concepts for a new piece. It appears around me as I gaze at graphics and fonts on advertisements assessing the positioning and creativeness of a certain piece. It's grown far beyond a "side hobby/interest" it's now a way of life.

It is through these words I can escape in thought. It is with these visuals I can represent myself externally to the world.

I am it, as much as it's me.

For those of you who have been with me for a while I welcome you back and hope you continue to support what I do. For those who are new I send a thank you and a digital hug for stopping by even if for a millisecond.

This is Viaje (for now) and I am so very glad that you found your way here!
